Kid's Cabaret VI by Tiffany Shannon

• Have a blast and meet some friends who have the same interests as you! Learn more about the arts from traditional musical theatre to contemporary performance. Sing, dance and discuss many styles of music that range from soft ballads to funky hip-hop. What's the difference between acting on stage and on film? Come find out and get tips on how to get an agent, modeling, commercials and much, much more. Participate in a cabaret-style performance on the last day, featuring every workshop participant.
• Session 1 for ages 12 - 17 will be held June 23 - 27, 1 - 6 PM.
• Session 2 for ages 8 - 11 will be held July 7 - 11, 10 AM - 3 PM.
• Session 3 for ages 8 - 11 will be held August 4 - 8, 10 AM - 3 PM.
• Cost: $250

Wee Kid's Cabaret by Tiffany Shannon

• Participants will have fun learning about musical theatre production. Kids will leave the workshop with music training, insight on becoming a character, and movement skills. There will be an exciting performance on the last day of the workshop.
• For ages 5 - 7.
• Session 1 - July 21 - 25, 10 AM - 1 PM.
• Session 2 - August 18 - 22, 10 AM - 1 PM.
• Cost: $180
• Location: CTA's new theatre at Bay Head Park, 1661 Bay Head Road, Annapolis.

Preparing for an Audition by Bob Rude

• The key to having a successful audition for a musical depends on how you prepare yourself. This two-day workshop will give you some tips on preparing for your audition, and will give you an opportunity to do a mock audition and have it critiqued by an experienced director. The first day of the workshop will cover techniques for a successful audition. Experienced former CTA performers will demonstrate what to do and what to avoid. You will learn how to select a song, present your song effectively, prepare mentally, what a director is looking for, how to prepare for reading from a script, how to dress for the audition and much more. You can ask questions of the workshop director and former CTA actors. On the second day you will try out your skills in a mock audition. You will sing, dance, and read and have the instructors work with you to teach you how to be even better. You may bring a song you are considering for an audition or select from some of the songs we have in instrument-only style. The workshop will be focused on anyone who is planning to audition for the fall audition for CTA's 2009 show Peter Pan.
• For ages 12 - 18.
• Aug 19, 5 - 7 PM and August 21, 5 - 8 PM.
• Cost: $55 for two sessions.
• Location: CTA's new theatre at Bay Head Park, 1661 Bay Head Road, Annapolis.

Registration is required for all workshops. To register for a workshop, please complete the Workshop Registration Form and send it to CTA, P.O. Box 1785, Annapolis, MD 21404. Please make sure your child wears comfortable clothes and sneakers are a must. (Please no crocs, sandals, flip-flops or skirts for the ladies.) Please do not send your child with cell phones, toys, games or other electronic devices. The instructor will have a phone for emergency use.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: Workshops follow the Anne Arundel County School closings. If schools are closed or afternoon and evening activities are cancelled, the workshop is cancelled for the day.
